Rethinking the Museum

That there is only one thing we can be sure of – and that’s change, seems an apposite truism. Right now everything appears to be in flux – at risk – uncertain. Infact the general direction of travel is pretty clear, even if the detail isn’t, and I believe that we are better prepared than we might think. Holding to what we have learned during the good-times is essential. Keep believing that museums and galleries are not about something, but are for someone; understand that to be relevant you have to have trusting relationships with the people you want to serve; accept that you may have to change yourself before you transform others.
